Fall Boys Rec - Lightning League

The boys fall rec 'LIGHTNING LACROSSE LEAGUE' is provided to all Northeast Florida youth through a partnership of area lacrosse programs including Ponte Vedra Riptide, Jax Lax Beaches, Jax Lax City, Amelia Island, Fleming Island and NPAA Panthers. All NFYLL programs are invited to partner.

This is a SIXES rec league. Sixes lacrosse is an innovative and dynamic discipline of lacrosse that showcases fast-paced and high-scoring gameplay. As a variant of the traditional format, it features six players on the field instead of the tradidtional 10, creating an exciting and intense experience for both players and spectators.

Sixes lacrosse has gained popularity in the last few years throughout the US and Internationally. It was featured in the 2022 World Games, the PLL Championship Series and will be the discipline at the center of lacrosse's return to the Olympic's in 2028.

**Current US Lacrosse membership is required for insurance purposes. You will be prompted to provide or renew your membership during the registration process.

SIXES FORMAT - GAMES ONLY
This is a GAMES ONLY league. There are no organized practices.
There will be additional Skill Development Sessions offered each game day for interested players.

Season runs September 8 to October 13
 
 AGE DIVISIONS:
14U: born between 9/1/10 - 8/31/12
12U: born between 9/1/12 - 8/31/14
10U: born between 9/1/14-8/31/16
8U: born after 9/1/16
 
GAME DAYS:
Sundays @ Patton Park
(2850 Hodges Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246)
 
GAME TIMES:
Between 10:00am and 1:00pm

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Game play format will be Sixes. 
  • This is a FRIENDLY league. Players and Parents are asked to keep the intensity to a minimum.
  • Players from all participating programs will be evenly divided onto teams by level of experience. Meaning your Riptide players will be on a team with players from Jax Lax Beaches, Jax Lax, Panthers, etc..
  • Players may request to be placed on a team with no more than 2 friends. We will do our best to accommodate all requests but cannot make any guarantees.
  • You will be notified of your team roster and schedule NO LATER THAN September 6th. 
  • No "Take-Out" Body Checks are allowed.
  • No Long Poles or Modified Poles
  • Paid Officials
  • One Strike Policy on Fighting or Throwing a Punch
  • Season will culminate in Championship games at each division.
  • Skill Development Sessions will be offered through X10 Lacrosse one hour prior to the start of your game each Sunday. Included in registration fee.
